Referee Abuse Reporting
- Both physical and non-physical abuse have no place in our game.
- Suspensions will be for a number of games or time-based (or sometimes both) depending on severity and circumstances.
- Players, coaches, and spectators are all encouraged to report abuse.
- Thank you for supporting WYSA & WisRef and for doing your part to protect referees from abuse and behaviors that have no place in our game.
As of March 1, 2025, U.S. Soccer’s updated Referee Abuse Prevention Policy (Policy 531-9) took effect. This policy update includes clearer definitions for physical and non-physical abuse – as well as stronger suspensions for reported referee abuse.
Information about this policy update can be found at www.ussoccer.com/rap.
