Winners:
The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association is pleased to announce its 2006 Mike Kabanica
Scholarship winners. This year’s recipients represent another quality class
of graduating seniors from across the state. Each winner will be issued an award
check for $500 to use toward their college expenses this fall. The executive
committee had a difficult time deciding on the final 7 winners, so difficult
that there was a tie between the boys, and all applicants were very well
qualified for the scholarship. Mike Kabanica served as the president of the Wisconsin
Soccer Association for nearly 2 decades up until his passing in October 1996.
The Youth scholarship program is a testament to Mike Kabanica’s legacy
to the growth and development of soccer in the state of Wisconsin for youth and
adult programs.
