Behind the strong leadership and play of Kristine Lilly, the US Women defeated the English women 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the Women's World Cup.
Lilly, captain of the team, earned an important honor in the game as well. Scoring the third goal for the US women, she became only the fifth woman to score in four different FIFA Women's World Cup finals.
The US will meet Brazil, the strongest team so far in the tournament. Germany will play Norway. The winners of these two games will play for the World Cup title. Wisconsin ODP alumna Leslie Osbourne played defense in the quarterfinal match. More Information
