Present and Former Girls ODP Players Achieve Honors
11/5/2007

As the college season draws to a close and the girls ODP teams look to regional and national play, Wisconsin has several players who have been honored for their abilities.

Brittany Von Rueden (1993) continues to impress the regional and national team coaches with her strong defensive play. Selected at Regional Camp this summer for the Regional Pool, she quickly found herself singled out for selection to the U-14 National Team in the Nike Friendlies in California this September. Von Rueden began as a reserve, but came off the bench to deliver a perfect pass to Alex Doll for the tying goal in their game against the Dallas Texan U16 girls. The next game Von Rueden earned a starting spot on the line-up. Von Rueden should continue her tenure with the U14 National Team over the coming months.

Earning spots on the Regional Team this November for the Inter-Regionals are Emily Jacobson (1992) and Maddy Vicker (1993). They will compete on their age appropriate Region II teams against the other three Regional teams.

Boston University senior Christina Reuter was named the America East Conference's Goalkeeper of the Year as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Reuter is a 1986 Girls ODP alumna from Madison. She had a standout regular college season in net amassing four shutouts, a 0.57 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage. She flourished in the conference season with a stingy 0.25 GAA and a .951 save percentage, good for second in the league in both categories. She currently ranks third nationally in save percentage and 20th in GAA.

ODP wishes to congratulate these four young women on their achievements and their strong contribution to the game.
