After a hard fought tie against Korea, the US Women defeated Sweden 2-0 and Nigeria 1-0 to advance to the World Cup Quarterfinals in China.
The women will meet England in that match on September 22nd which will be played live on ESPN HD at 6:55 AM.
Leslie Osborne who was on the Wisconsin ODP team made her World Cup debut against Sweden. Her strong play earned her the starting spot again against Nigeria.
England tied Japan and Germany, then finished out the week with a strong 6-1 victory over Argentina to be named #2 in their group.
The typhoon delayed several games so all quarterfinal qualifiers have not yet been determined, but Brazil will most likely join the US, Germany, England, Korea, and three others yet to be named.
