WI State Championships

2008 WI State Champions Crowned 
Almost all of the teams representing Wisconsin at the 2008 Midwest Regional Championships in Rockford, IL have now been determined after the finals June 1 at USA Park in Appleton. With almost perfect weather and some great matches we now know 14 of the 15 teams that will all challenge for the Regional title. The US Youth Soccer Region II Championships, which will feature top teams in the Under-12 through Under-19 age groups, begins on Friday, June 20 with opening ceremonies at MetroCenter. Preliminary games will be played Saturday, June 21 through Monday, June 23. Semifinal matches will be played on Tuesday, June 24, with the US Youth Soccer Region II Champions being crowned following final games on Wednesday, June 25.

US Youth Soccer State champions and select runners-up from 14 state associations in Region II, including host Illinois Youth Soccer Association will participate. The other state associations represented are Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio South, Ohio North, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Regional winners of the Under-14 through Under-19 brackets earn a berth at the 2008 US Youth Soccer National Championships to be played July 22-27, in North Little Rock, AR at the Burns Park Soccer Complex. Special Thanks to SCORe Park in Racine and USA Park in Appleton for hosting the spring group play and finals.

2008 Required State Championships Forms - Please Read
The 2008 Wisconsin State Championships Rules are available for your review. The State Championships Committee made several changes. Please make your players familiar with the changes.

Policy on US Youth Soccer National Championships (includes Overtime information not in other State or Regional rules for games outside Group Play)

The forms required for participation have also been changed. The “BLUE ROSTER” and official State stamped team roster is to be brought to registration at State Championships before your FIRST game. Also be sure to bring along those items in the email from Carl Micke to all State Championships Managers. This form must be signed by all players who expect to participate in the 2008 event. Please include a copy of each roster that shows the name of any player used under the “club pass” provision

The team manager and coach will be expected to sign and complete the following forms; Team Information, Eligibility form, Code of Conduct and the Game Day Roster.

These forms must be presented by the team representative at the designated “team check in” area at the tournament venue 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled game.

Teams that are scheduled to participate in a play in game must bring copies of the four forms to the Play In Game, and give to the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Official and if there is not one, give to the referees. The play in game victor must then present the original form to the “team check in” area at the tournament venue. The game day roster and player passes must be presented to the match official prior to all play in games. Remember the payment to the referee must be made before the start of the play in game. In addition the manager or coach must have in their possession the player medical consent forms and Waver of Liability at all times.

State Championships Email List
We have created an email subscription list for the State Championships. All communications regarding the tournament will be sent by email only. All team managers are required to Subscribe to the State Championships Email List. Others wishing to receive email updates on the State Championships tournament are invited to subscribe to the State Championships email subscription list as well.
