WYSA Hosts another Successful AGM
Members of Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association convened on February 9, 2013 at the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee for another successful Annual General Meeting.
Action items from the day included approval of the 2013-2014 budget as well as amendments to the WYSA Constitution and Bylaws. The membership reelected to the board, Peter Mariahazy (President) and Toby Whipple (Secretary).
The 2012 WYSA Award Winners were also recognized: Boys Recreational Coach of the Year – Gary Rebholz, Girls Recreational Coach of the Year – Don Blunck, Boys Competitive Coach of the Year –Tyler Thomas, Girls Competitive Coach of the Year – Patrick Buckley, Volunteer of the Year – Rick Theilig, TOPSoccer Buddy of the Year – Markus Roeders, Male Young Referee of the Year – Killian Mielotz, Female Young Referee of the Year – Paige Schommer.
The annual Wisconsin Soccer Learning University was held providing educational sessions on current topics of interest, including League One, a Director of Coaching meeting, Futsal, ODP, TOPSoccer, and Player Retention at the Grassroots Level.
WYSA introduced a grant program benefiting member clubs in attendance at the AGM. Those present were automatically entered to win one of four grants to support their local soccer programs. This year’s winners include – Fort Atkinson Youth Soccer Association ($1000), Wisconsin Rapids Kickers ($500), Fond du Lac Soccer Association ($250) and Brookfield Soccer Association ($250).
