Recreational Accreditation

Clubs Awarded the Recreational Accreditation:
Capital City Soccer Club (05/10/11)
Lake Geneva YMCA (05/10/11)
Watertown Soccer Club (03/19/11)
Whitewater Soccer Club (05/10/11)

Recreational Accreditation Criteria

Region II has established a Recreational Accreditation being awarded by the state association to member organizations in recognition of achievement of quality in education, referee development and risk management.

For 2010-2011, the criterion for recreational club accreditation is:

1. Coach Education
The recreational program will need to have 30% of the coaches in their program obtain US Youth Soccer Association or Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association approved coaching certificates or licenses. (The minimum percentage will be adjusted in subsequent years) Note: WYSA has established the Y1 as the minimum certification requirement for recreational coaches. This course is free as a benefit to our membership.

2. Referee Development or Mentoring
The recreational program will certify to Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association that 90% of their referees are USSF certified (Grade 9, 8 or higher).
If unable to satisfy the 90% level, and prior to attaining that level within 3 years, the recreational program certifies that it is operating the USSF Grade 9 referee program.

3. Full Participation in KidSafe (background checks)
Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association to ensure that its recreational program had complete compliance with US Youth Soccer guidelines

4. Goal Safety (inspections and anchoring)
The recreational program certifies to Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association that all goals in its possession or use are anchored or secured 100% of the time, whether in use or not.

5. Sideline and Parent Behavior and Education
The recreational program certifies and provides documentation to the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association that it has a parent behavior program in place (e.g. distribution of the US Youth Soccer “Positive Parenting for Youth Soccer” DVD to every team).

Obtaining the Recreational Accreditation
Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association will award the Region II Accreditation to recreational clubs who are in compliance with the above criteria and have attested to that by submitting the acknowledgements and certifications form along with required documentation to:
