Olympic Development Boys Director of Coaching – Craig Carlson
Craig currently holds a USSF “A” license, a USSF National Youth License, and is active throughout the State of Wisconsin as a National Coaching Staff Instructor. Craig brings eight years of experience as a Region II Olympic Development Coach as well as having been the Wisconsin Girls ODP Head Coach. Craig is also the Associate Director of Coaching for the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association.
1995 Boys ODP Coach – Enzo Fuschino
Enzo Fuschino (pronounced Foos-KEY-no) coaches both the men’s and women’s program at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Fuschino was the boys head coach at Madison LaFollette from 2001 to 2006 and previously served as the girls coach. In addition to his duties as an Olympic Development Program coach, he has coached both boys and girls at Stoughton High School and several successful club teams, including Princeton Soccer Club and the Madison 56ers. Enzo played for the Unione Sportiva Melizzano in the Amateur Italian League (1980-85) and for A.S. Arbia from 1986 to 1989 in what is now Italy’s C2 league. Coach Fuschino holds a USSF “C” license and an NSCAA National Diploma.
1996 Boys Olympic Development Coaches – Jake Provan & Kyle Zenoni
Jake Provan has seven years of professional soccer experience with the A-League, NPSL, and MISL. Jake won a National A-League title with the Milwaukee Rampage in 1997 and a World Indoor Championship with the Milwaukee Wave of the MISL in 2000. Provan’s ten years of coaching experience include three years with the Wisconsin Olympic Development Program, head coach for the Milwaukee NPSL team, and was a volunteer assistant with the UW-Milwaukee men’s team. He led Waukesha West to the State Sectional Final in 2006. Jake presently coaches for the Bavarian Soccer Club. He played for the Bavarian Majors team and helped lead the team in winning three US Soccer National Titles including two Amateur Cup Championships and one US Open Cup Championship through 2001 and 2003. Jake Provan played his collegiate ball at UWM, earning academic athlete honors three consecutive years, captained the team his senior year, and was the leading scorer. Provan holds a USSF “A” Coaching License.
Kyle Zenoni begins his second season with ODP at UW-Green Bay as a member of the coaching staff. Kyle was a four-year letter winner (2002-05) on the field for UWM, leading the Panthers to the second round of the NCAA Tournament each season. He was a four-year starter at Milwaukee - serving as team captain during his senior campaign. After being selected by the Chicago Storm in the MISL Draft following his collegiate career, Zenoni traveled overseas to continue his professional career. He spent time with Dundee FC, a team in the Scottish Premier League, to begin his trek, while also playing for Falu FK (a Division 1 club is Sweden), La Paz FC (Premiership in South America) and with the Minnesota Thunder (USL) back in the United States. Most recently, his coaching career had him working for the Youth Development Program in Whitefish Bay, Wis. He also provided an instrumental role for the Panthers earlier this year - serving as the interim coach for the spring season. Other experience has come as an assistant for Milwaukee Area Technical College, with youth programs for the Milwaukee Kickers, working with Special Olympics and with the Sussex (Wis.) club team.
1997 Boys Olympic Development Program Coaches – Nick Genova and Greg Henschel
Domenick (Nick) Genova is the head coach for the Waunakee High School boys team and also the head coach for McFarland High School Girls where he also teaches Spanish. He led the girls team to two High School State Tournament appearances in 2007 and 2008. He has coached for the Waunakee Soccer Club where he held the position of director of coaching for two years. He is currently coaching for Madison FC. He played in the Wisconsin Majors League in the 80s and early 90s and has held a USSF “B” coaching license since 2003.
Greg Henschel is the coordinator of the UW-W men's soccer team. He served as the men's head coach for the 1999 season on an interim basis, and was named coordinator in June of 2000. In 1999 Henschel directed the men's team to a 14-5-0 record, which was the school record for most wins in a season, with the third best winning percentage (.737) in school history. Under Henschel the '99 Warhawks earned a berth in the NCAA III championship tournament, and advanced to the regional championship match and final sixteen teams in the tournament. Henschel is also coaching in the Milwaukee Kickers Nationals Youth Program, where he has served as the head coach of 12 and 14 year old teams for both boys and girls. He was an assistant men's coach at his alma mater, UW-Oshkosh, for the 1995 and 1998 seasons. He received a degree in psychology from UW-Oshkosh in 1995. during the 1996 season he was an assistant at Thomas College(GA), where he worked with both the women's and men's teams.
1998 Boys Olympic Developmental Program Coaches – Austin Nyquist, Ben Shepard, and Kevin Brennan
Austin Nyquist is entering his second year as a Wisconsin ODP Coach. Austin played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin- Madison and at Seton Hall college. He resides in Rockford, IL and played for Guilford High School. Austin played midfield for the Badgers.
Ben Shepard enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Panthers. He came to Milwaukee before the 2010 season from NCAA Division II Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C. He spent five seasons as the assistant coach following a playing career at the same school where he was a four-year starter as a defender and in the midfield and a three-time team captain. He helped lead the program to new levels as part of the coaching staff, with the Saints going 54-30-12 in his tenure, including 52-17-9 the past four years and 27-9-4 in Conference Carolinas play over that same span. Shepherd, a native of Cornwall, England, helped guide Limestone to its first Conference Carolinas Tournament championship and NCAA appearance in 2006. That year, the squad advanced to the Sweet 16 and finished No. 19 in the NSCAA/adidas national poll. The Saints were back again in 2008, finishing with a national rank of No. 23, when they went 16-3-2 with 10 shutouts. He graduated from Limestone in 2004 with a double major in psychology and English. He currently holds the Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and assisted with the 1991 South Carolina ODP Program.
Kevin Brennan is in his first season as the head coach for the Cardinal Stritch University Wolves men's and women's soccer programs. Brennan, a four-year member of the Wolves men’s soccer program between the 2003-2007 years, was a strong leadership presence on and off of the field. As a player, he started all four seasons and was named the team’s most valuable player during his sophomore campaign. Over the course of the last four years, the Wolves newest head coach has spent ample time earning his stripes in the world of coaching. Since being an assistant men’s soccer coach at Viterbo University in 2007, he has worked with the Jamie Shore Soccer International program where he served as a coach and operations manager in Bristol, U.K., the associate head boys’ soccer coach with Pius High School. Adding to that Brennan also continues to work with Whitefish Bay High School as their head varsity boys’ soccer coach, the Bavarian Soccer Club as an academy coach, and the Olympic Development Program for Wisconsin. He is also English F.A. Level 1 and 2 licensed along with a NSCAA National Diploma.
1999 Boys Olympic Development Program Coaches – Scott Surprise and Patrick Hodgins
Scott Suprise has been the varsity coach at Pius XI High School for the last nine years. He has 22 years of coaching experience at the club premier, high school, and junior college levels. Suprise holds several USSF and NSCAA coaching licenses. In 2006 and 2007, Scott was selected to coach in the Wisconsin High School All Star Game and in 2007 was named WSCA Private School Coach of the Year. He currently is youth director of the Croatian Eagles Soccer Club and is a U13 boys premier coach.
Patrick Hodgins is a two year letter winner at Lakeland College. After his playing career ended due to knee injuries he joined the Lakeland College coaching staff as a student assistant coach from 2002-2004. Has coached for the Croatian Eagles SC the past three years; currently coaches the Croatian Eagles U23 teams and is involved with the youth teams. At the club level he has had experience coaching age groups ranging from U7 through U23. Patrick currently works as a program administrator for Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association.

1995 Girls ODP Coach – Trevor Warren
Trevor Warren was named the head coach of UW-Green Bay's women's soccer program Jan. 17, 2008. In 19 seasons as a collegiate coach, Warren has served as the head coach for two other collegiate programs. He boasted a head coaching record of 103-38-7 in eight years at the NCAA Division II level at Mercyhurst (Pa.) College and Lock Haven (Pa.) University, including a 1993 NCAA Division II Final Four appearance. In all, he has made coaching appearances in four NCAA Tournaments. Warren spent nine seasons coaching club soccer in Oregon, including seven years with FC Portland. Under his watch, FC Portland claimed three state titles and a U18 US Club Soccer National Championship in 2003. Warren made the transition to Division I in 2002 when he began a three-year stint as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs at the University of Portland. Warren assisted former Olympic and national head coach Clive Charles and the women's program to its first-ever NCAA title.Warren is a United States Soccer Federation “A” licensed coach. In all, he has made coaching appearances in four NCAA Tournaments. Warren also has an advanced national diploma from the NSCAA and an English Football Association coaching license. In addition, he has coached at the Olympic Development level, serving as a staff coach for Pennsylvania West from 1988-97, Oregon from 2001-06 and the Region IV program from 2003-05.
1996 Girls ODP Coaches – Mike Moynihan & Craig Peltonen
Mike Moynihan - A former Director of Coaching for Girls Olympic Development Program, Mike has 21 years of coaching credentials with Olympic Development, 12 years of coaching ODP at the Regional camp, and several years at national camp. Mike enters his 12th season as UW-Milwaukee women’s head coach. As a player, Mike Moynihan graduated from Wisconsin-Madison as Most Valuable Freshman, a four year letter winner, two years as team captain, and the Bill Reddan Award for Sportsmanship as a senior. Moynihan currently serves on the board of directors for the Shorewood Kickers. He has also coached both the Milwaukee Pius XI varsity girls and Marquette High School freshman boys teams, along with club soccer for F.C. Milwaukee. Moynihan holds a USSF “A” coaching license as well as a USSF national youth license.
Craig Peltonen, entering season number 23 at Marian University, has built the men’s program into one of the region’s elite teams. His first squad in 1988 claimed an LMC title and since then the Sabres have claimed five other league titles (2002, 2001, 1998, 1995, and 1993).
In 2002, Peltonen took his squad back to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year. Peltonen is a seven-time LMC Coach-of-the-Year and 1991 NAIA District 14 Coach-of-the-Year. He coaches and has served as an officer in the Fond du Lac Youth Soccer Association and runs numerous camps and clinics throughout the year. Peltonen has also served on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association and been instrumental in educating and licensing the state’s youth coaches. Craig counts an “A” USSF coaching license among his achievements.
1997 Girls ODP Coaches – Quinn Ross & Jason Murphy
Quinn Ross has logged 13 years of coaching with Wisconsin Olympic Development Program’s girls and boys at the district and state level including a recent staff position for Region II boys. He has 11 years as UW-Green Bay men’s assistant coach and 12 years as UW-Green Bay’s women’s coach. He was Horizon League Coach of the Year in 2003. He was named Division II All American in 1988 and 1989. Quinn has played for Lyngby FC in Denmark, the Portland Pride CISL, Portland Timbers APSL, Columbus Xoggz USISL and the Milwaukee Rampage, league champions in 1997. Quinn Ross currently holds a USSF “A” license, and also coaches in the FC Green Bay club.
Jason Murphy begins his first season as the women's soccer head coach at Marian University in 2010. Murphy comes to Marian after spending the last two years as an assistant coach at the University of Chicago. At Chicago, Murphy assisted in all aspects of the women’s soccer program, including recruiting perspective student-athletes, practice planning and implementation. He helped guide the Maroons to a 28-10-3 record the past two seasons and were consistently ranked in the NCAA Division III Top 25. The Maroons twice qualified for the NCAA Tournament and made a Sweet 16 and round of 32 appearances in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Murphy, a 2004 graduate of UW-Stevens Point, was an assistant coach for UW-Stevens Point in 2003 and 2004. He helped lead the Pointers to an overall record of 31-8-5, including winning two conference tournament championships and one regular season championship. The Pointers made two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2003 and 2004. Murphy earned his National and Advanced National coaching licenses from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Additionally, he completed his NSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeper licenses in 2007.
1998 Girls ODP Coaches – Kevin Roethe and Tyler Watkins
Kevin Roethe is a four year letter winner at the UW-Milwaukee. While attending college he helped his team to two consecutive conference Horizon League championships and two consecutive Division I- NCAA appearances in 2001 and 2002. Kevin is currently head varsity soccer coach at Divine Savior Holy Angels. During his time there he has posted a 48-2-2 record and the 2008 Division I state girls championship. He received the 2007 NFHS high school girls coach of the year award, and in 2008 was named the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel girls Coach of the Year, the NFHS Wisconsin private high school Coach of the Year and the Region IV private high school girls Coach of the Year. Kevin is also currently involved in coaching both at Marquette University High School and FC Milwaukee. At the club level he has had experience coaching age groups ranging from U11 through U18. Kevin currently has his national “C” license and is looking forward to impacting the state’s top soccer players through the Olympic Development Program.
Tyler Watkins is in his second season as the men's and women's assistant soccer coach at Clarke University.Watkins previously served in the same role at NCAA Division III Cornell College in 2009.While at Cornell,Watkins was also the head men's coach at Center Point-Urbana High School and was head goalkeeper coach for Cedar River Soccer Association/Eastern Iowa United. In addition, he spent time as an assistant women's coach at Cedar Rapids Xavier High School (2009) and Independence High School (2008). Watkins started his coaching career as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Upper Iowa University. Watkins played goalkeeper at NCAA Division II Upper Iowa University, starting the majority of the team's games his freshman and sophomore years. He also played with the St. Louis Lions Soccer Club PDL and Super 20 teams. Watkins has a NSCAA National Diploma and a NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma. He is also a Head Coach with Wisconsin ODP and Dubuque Soccer Club.
1999 Girls ODP Coaches – Matt Callahan & Ryan Quamme
Matt Callahan is returning to ODP as both a staff coach and to coach 95 Girls. Callahan is director of youth development for the Oshkosh United Soccer Club. Matt currently holds a USSF “B” license as well as a USSF National Youth License. Callahan is head coach for the Oshkosh West varsity boys team and the Oshkosh West JV girls team. Matt is the author of “Matt Callahan’s Practice Plans” a comprehensive series of soccer practice activities for soccer coaches.
Ryan Quamme is an assistant coach for the UW-Whitewater men's and women's soccer teams. Quamme began coaching for UW-W in 2008. In addition to his responsibilities at UW-W, Quamme has been a coach in the Madison area since 1999. From 2003-2004, Quamme was the head coach of girl's soccer at Madison East High School. In two years at the helm, East went 35-10-2. In 2003, East finished 21-3-2 with a 9th place ranking in the NSCAA/Adidas Regional IV poll. At East, Quamme coached eight All-Big Eight Conference players, one Big Eight Conference Player of the Year and three WSCA All-State players. Quamme holds multiple soccer coaching certifications including the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Premier Diploma and a Union of European Football Associations "B" License.
Additional ODP Coaches –
Melissa Janowitsch was a four year Division II letter winner at St. Joseph’s College. Melissa currently holds a USSF National “D” coaching license and is affiliated with the Madison 56ers Soccer Club, coaching at the youth levels ranging from U11 through U13. Presently, Melissa is pursuing her MBA at the University of Wisconsin.
Brittany Nikolic-Oliviera was hired as the head women’s soccer coach at Alverno College in 2009. Prior to 2009 she served as an assistant coach at Northwestern University, UNLV, and UW-Milwaukee. She has been involved with ODP as a Nevada State Team coach and is currently on the USYSA Region II staff. Brittany also coaches the U14 girls for FC Milwaukee and last year lead the FC team in that age group to a Wisconsin State Championship and regional semi-final appearance. As a player, Brittany played in 84 games for Stanford University while receiving All-Pac-10 Conference academic honors, and made the NCAA Tournament each of her four years. She holds a USSF “C” license and a NSCAA National Diploma.
Kirstin Kiphardt is formerly one of the Youth Directors of Coaching with Middleton Yahara Soccer Club. In addition, she has coached the MYSC U15 Girls Blue team and was the MYSC TOPSoccer Coordinator (a program for players with special needs). She relocated to Wisconsin two years ago and prior to the move was involved with Colorado club soccer for nine years as a director of coaching. Kirstin has the following diplomas and licenses: NSCAA Advanced National, USSF "C," USSF National Youth, NSCAA Youth National. Kirstin played semi-pro soccer with Colorado in the W-League for seven years; while playing, the team won the W-League Western Conference Championship. She also has a National Championship title with the Real Colorado Women's team. For her collegiate career, Kirstin played at a Division 1 level with the Univ. of North Carolina at Asheville.
Megan Dobesh played four years of Division I soccer for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Has coached for the Madison 56ers the past 10 years; currently coaches Madison 56ers U14 Red girls team and is involved with the 56ers ADP program. Currently holds a USSF National “D” coaching license. Most recent playing experience: 2008 played for the Lady Blues WPSL team and 2010 played for Madison 56ers WPSL team. Presently, Megan teaches elementary school on the west side of Madison.
David Madsen is in his first year as an assistant coach with the UW-Milwaukee women's soccer team. He came to Milwaukee after spending four years as the head men's and women's soccer coach at Lakeland College in Sheboygan. In 2008, Madsen led the Muskie men to their first winning season since 1994. Lakeland went 8-7-2 that year and posted a school record for goals in a season. On the women's side, LC posted a pair of 10-win seasons in his tenure. Prior to Lakeland, Madsen spent three seasons as an assistant at his alma mater, UW-Whitewater. There, he served as an assistant with both the men' and women's sides. The Warhawk men went to the NCAA Tournament in each of his three seasons, advancing to the second round in 2004. On the women's side, his tenure included an 11-3-2 record in 2003. As a goalkeeper at Whitewater, Madsen helped the Warhawks to three NCAA Tournaments. Madsen currently holds his National “C” license from the USSF.
Brad Swenby is in his first season at UW-Madison as a member of the coaching staff for the Badger Men’s program. Brad was a three-year letter winner (2000-02) in goal for UW-Milwaukee, leading the Panthers to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in the 2001 and 2002 seasons. Following his collegiate career, Swenby played Goalkeeper for the Minnesota Thunder of the A-League. Most recently, he was invited into pre-season camp with the Kansas City Wizards in March, 2010. His coaching career had him working with the Arizona Olympic Development Program from 2006 – 2009 while living in Tempe, AZ. He moved back to Milwaukee in the fall of 2009 to become a member of the coaching staff for UW-Milwaukee. Other experience has come as goalkeeper coach for Illinois ODP.
Brent Diderrich is the Director of Coaching (U13-U18) for the Lake Country United Soccer Club and holds a USSF “C” license. He has been a coach with Wisconsin ODP for six years. Prior to his current position, Brent served as a graduate assistant coach for the men’s and women’s teams at William Woods University where he helped mentor six All-Conference selections, two All-Region selections, and one All-American selection. He has a Masters degree in education.
