Managers

This page is to help all managers, both those that are new to the role and those who are “veterans.”  It is to help in your duties and responsibilities and your ability to get those accomplished.  If you still have any questions, please feel free to contact Patrick Hodgins at 414.328.9972 ext 106.

1. Know all your club contacts: President, Coaching Coordinator, Field Scheduler, and Referee Coordinator

2. Know all your district contacts: President, Registrar

3. Always call your opponent a few days prior to the scheduled date to confirm game time, location, etc.  Constant communication is key.

*If weather creates a question of whether the game is going to be played or not, please call the night before or the morning of the scheduled game to confirm the status of the game.  This could save a lot of unnecessary drive time.

4. Make yourself easily available: home phone, work phone, cell phone, email.  This is especially important on game day.

5. Always have a copy of a list of team members, parents, and other managers in your division including their phone numbers and email addresses.

6. List of important dates: Registration, League Application, and State Cup

7. Travel Permits-3 documents are needed in order to process an application for a Travel Permit: completed application, roster, and tournament sanctioning form(the tournament you are attending should be able to provide one of these)  If you submit you application prior to 30 days before the start date of the tournament, the fee is $25.00.  If you submit the application inside 30 days before the start date of the tournament, the fee is $50.00 AND INSIDE OF 7 DAYS THE FEE IS $100.  Plan ahead and save your team some money.

*If playing in a 3 v 3 tournament outside the State, a travel permit is necessary.  The fee for a 3 v 3 tournament is $10.00.

8. Guest Roster Forms can be signed off by a club officer from which the guest player is registered to.  If you wish for the State Office to sign off on a Guest Roster Form, you must send it through the mail along with $5.00.  No faxes are accepted.  As of August 1, 2002, the new Guest Roster Form is to be used.  Old forms are no longer accepted.  The new forms can be downloaded from our website.

9. Directions and maps to fields can be found on our website.  Go to our home page and click on the Maps to Fields link.  If you cannot find the map there, then contact the manager from the team you are going to play.

10. Game Reports: Bring this to the game filled out with your roster.  Any score reporting via email should be directed to Rob Lestina.

11. Reschedules-Follow League Policy and if a reschedule is allowed, it is up to you and the other manager to agree on a make-up date.  An email from both managers must be sent to Brent Diderrich confirming the date, time, location, etc.  It is up to the home team to secure field and referees for rescheduled games.  Referees must also be notified by the home team when a game is cancelled.

12.  Registration:  When playing in the State Leagues i.e. Premier Boys, 1st Division Boys, WCGSL or Metro you need to submit the following for proper registration:

A)  completed Player Registration with proof of birth

B)  completed Risk Management Forms for all coaches and managers

C)  Proper Registration Fees for 2005-06:
Competitive Player = $ 10.80 ($9.00 player fee + $1.80 medical insurance)
Recreational Player = $ 8.30 ($6.50 player fee + $1.80 medical insurance)
Coach Registration = $10.00

13.  LIGHTNING!  It would seem to be common sense, that approaching storms with lighting signals an immediate retreat to a safe area.  It has come to our attention however, that some parents & coaches believe that standing under a tree provides some safety from lightning.  QUITE THE CONTRARY.  As such, we have posted a hyperlink to a web site that explains the dangers of lightning and the steps to be taken to provide safety.  Remember that lightning can strike from as far as ten (10) miles away.  The general rule of :30 minutes after the last flash and/or rumble of thunder is somewhat of a safe indicator of safe distance.  Please visit the National Lightning Safety Institute’s web site at www.lightningsafety.com for downloadable information.
